To Ashlanders, Jen Moss is simply known as the "Naked Lady." Most recently, however, she is not only making news for her revealing pasties and strange habits, but also for her desire to sue the city of Ashland for not allowing her to participate with a group of 10 people in Ashland's noteworthy Fourth of July Parade--only wearing a G-string, rollerblades and a smile.

If political campaigns were modeled on movies, Barack Obama's campaign would definitely be based on the movie "Speed."

"Impeach Bush! Impeach Bush!" command the posters, bumper stickers and protesters eagerly waving their signs around Portland. I smile at their valiant effort, but then a wistful thought snakes through my mind. Too little, too late.
As much as I would love to see George W. Bush booted out of the White House, sprawled on the concrete while passerbys sneer at his dopey face, it isn't a realistic goal.

It was during my junior year in high school that I read for my class the book "L'étudiant étranger" ("The Foreign Student") by Philippe Labro. The story describes a year abroad of a French student who, thanks to a scholarship, goes to America. Set in the 1960s, everything was changing and he could discover many new things in this different country.
